Flood Warning issued September 15 at 10:44PM CDT until September 21 at 2:00AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO

…The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has
issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Missouri…

Grand River near Sumner affecting Linn, Chariton, Carroll and
Livingston Counties.

* WHAT…Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Grand River near Sumner.

* WHEN…From late Wednesday night to late Sunday night.

* IMPACTS…At 23.0 feet, Bottomland 1 to 2 miles south of the gage
begins to flood. At 26.0 feet, Rural land adjacent to the river is
flooded. At 28.0 feet, Rural roads are under water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 7.7 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage early
Thursday morning to a crest of 33.7 feet Thursday evening. It
will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning.
– Flood stage is 26.0 feet.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
