Rolla man seriously injured in Phelps County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Rolla man suffered serious injuries in a Phelps County crash Sunday night.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 32-year-old Rolla man was driving his 2016 Dodge Journey eastbound on I-44 near mile marker 178.8 at 10:22 p.m. Sunday. The man hit the back of a tractor-trailer, went off the right side of the road, and overturned.

Mercy Air flew the man to University Hospital. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to reports.

The Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District responded to the scene. According to a post on social media, units arrived to find the man having been ejected from the vehicle.
