Man seriously hurt in Pettis County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 46-year-old Sedalia man was seriously hurt in a Pettis County crash just before 3 p.m. Monday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash involved two vehicles on U.S. 65 at Honda Road.

An 84-year-old Sedalia woman was stopped in the center lane facing south, waiting to turn left in a 2023 Buick Envision. She turned left into the path of the man, who was driving a 2026 GMC Sierra north on the highway, causing the front of the vehicles to collide.

The man was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center with serious injuries. The woman was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.

The report states both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The Buick was totaled, while the GMC has extensive damage.
