Tracking strong storms tomorrow, nicer weather on Sunday

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds, with an isolated storm possible after midnight. Temperatures fall to the mid-60s.

TOMORROW: An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day is in effect for severe storms on Saturday, with the potential for two rounds in the morning and evening. Morning storms between 6 and 10 a.m. will primarily affect the Lake area and I-44, producing isolated high winds and quarter-sized hail. We'll clear out midday, and temperatures will surge into the 80s as the atmosphere recovers. Another round of severe storms is expected Saturday evening, mostly after 6 p.m., with storms moving in from the northwest. All severe hazards are possible, though damaging winds above 60 mph will be the greatest threat. Storms will end by midnight, but flash flooding will be a concern through Saturday night as rain totals could exceed 1 to 2 inches.

EXTENDED: A big cooldown is expected on Sunday, with afternoon temperatures in the 70s and overnight lows falling to the 50s by Sunday night. Cool, quiet weather will last through Tuesday, but rain chances will increase midweek, raising temperatures to the 80s.
