Woman in downtown Columbia brawl charged with felony

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One of the seven people arrested following a brawl that occurred early July 26 in downtown Columbia has been charged with a felony and two misdemeanors.

Tinoz'shia Harris was charged on Tuesday in Boone County with third-degree assault of a special victim, misdemeanor resisting arrest and misdemeanor causing a peace disturbance. Court filings indicate she posted a $6,500 last month. An initial court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25.

A Columbia police officer wrote in the probable cause statement that Harris was fighting another woman at 1:24 a.m. July 26 at the intersection of North Ninth Street and East Walnut Street.

The officer used pepper spray on both women and he wrote that Harris knocked the pepper spray from his hand while the woman she fought ran away, the statement says. Harris also allegedly tried to run away and she allegedly hit the officer on the top of his head while he was detaining her, court documents say.

A video posted on social media at the time shows multiple people fighting downtown and police responding.
