Tracking a few isolated storms late tonight, another round possible late Monday

TONIGHT: A few isolated thunderstorms possible around or shortly after sunset, especially along and north of I-70. A few storms may contain small hail and gusty winds. Lows in the mid-50s.

TOMORROW: Breezy and warm with a chance of storms in the evening. Highs in the mid-upper 70s.

EXTENDED: A weak front draped to our north will gradually slide south tonight, at the same time as elevated instability is maximized over Mid-Missouri. As low level winds kick up overnight, there's a chance for a few isolated to scattered thunderstorms to develop after sunset and bring the potential for a few strong wind gusts and small hail. The Storm Prediction Center has a level 1/5 risk covering most of the region for this marginal threat. The front will lift back north on Monday, allowing temperatures to warm back into the mid-upper 70s, and meager instability to grow ahead of the front's return. By Monday night, we'll have a similar set up with scattered thunderstorms that bring the potential for small hail and isolated strong winds. The front hangs in the vicinity on Tuesday, with widespread rain and storms possible through much of the day, and much cooler temperatures as we fall to the 50s for highs. Most rain exits early on Wednesday, leaving us with cooler and drier air for the rest of the week. Wednesday will only feature highs in the mid-upper 50s, while we gradually warm back up into the 60s on Thursday and 70s by Friday and the weekend, with limited rain chances. Rain totals between Sunday night and Tuesday will be between 1-2".
