Tracking a big warmup midweek

THIS AFTEROON: Mostly sunny and warm, with highs reaching the mid-60s.

TONIGHT: Temperatures fall into the 50s after sunset, and lows drop to the 40s overnight.

EXTENDED: Highs climb into the low 80s on Wednesday, and approach 90 degrees by Thursday, likely setting new record highs before a cold front arrives Thursday evening. Thunderstorms are possible Thursday night into Friday, bringing a significant cooldown into the 50s on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures then are expected to warm back above average to close the month, and April may bring its typical showers by the middle of next week.
