Tracking warm and windy conditions midweek
THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly cloudy and warm, with temperatures in the upper 60s. Southerly winds will be strong, gusting up to 30 mph.
TONIGHT: A few sprinkles are possible this evening, but we'll likely stay dry. Temperatures remain mild in the 50s overnight. Winds briefly switch out of the west, still nearing 30 mph.
EXTENDED: Sunnier skies are forecasted on Wednesday, while temperatures creep toward record highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. Southwesterly winds remain strong and will contribute to a fire risk, with humidity falling dangerously low in the afternoon. This dry air will also fight against rain chances Wednesday night into Thursday as a front moves through the area. Scattered showers and storms are possible early Thursday, but the majority of activity remains to our east, where better moisture will be in place. Temperatures will near 70 once again on Thursday before a cooldown sets in for the weekend, dropping highs into the 40s by Friday. Another system will trek across the region on Saturday, and could produce mixed precipitation in the colder air, but moisture and accumulations look fairly low for now.
