Suspects arrested in a hit-and-run incident that killed a Columbia man

Suspects involved in a vehicle and pedestrian collision on August 14 that killed a 47-year-old Columbia man along East St. Charles Road have been arrested

On Saturday, Columbia Police Officers arrested 53-year-old Columbia man, Shunta Bohanon, on suspicion of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, armed criminal action, leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence, according to a CPD press release.

Sandra Sharp, a 55-year-old Columbia woman, was also arrested on suspicion of tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest and assault of a special victim in the fourth degree.

Around 9:09 p.m. on August 14, the Columbia Police responded to a traffic incident that involved a vehicle and a pedestrian near East St. Charles Road and Remm Drive.

The vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was identified as a 47-year-old Columbia man, Mark Hunter Jr. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead from sustained injuries.

CPD said in the release that they used Flock cameras to identify the suspects.
