Tracking rain and fog through Tuesday morning

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers returning. Highs in the lower to mid-50s.

TONIGHT: Fog developing with showers through midnight. Temperatures remaining in the upper 40s to around 50.

EXTENDED: Low pressure exits to the east on Tuesday, but clouds and fog are slow to retreat, keeping temperatures in the 50s through the day. Winds shift to the northwest as a cold front moves in from the northwest during the day Tuesday, bringing a chance for a few sprinkles. Much cooler air sets in for Wednesday and Thursday, with morning temperatures in the mid-20s and highs in the lower 40s. Friday starts off dry, but we are closely watching low pressure that will move in from the southwest, bringing precipitation to the area late Friday afternoon or Friday night. Temperatures will be near the freezing mark, so this first round of precipitation may start off as snow, transitioning back to rain on Saturday as temperatures begin to warm. Showers continue through much of Saturday, with rain potentially lingering into Sunday, making for a messy travel weekend. Stay with ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather as we continue to fine tune the potential for any wintry weather at the end of the week.
