Mizzou reflects, refines game ahead of showdown with Alabama

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Football enjoyed a well-deserved break ahead of Saturday's top-20 showdown.

The Tigers (5-0) have capitalized on their first bye week of the 2025 campaign, focusing on improvement over the last seven days in preparation to host Alabama.

Beforehand, MU sealed an undefeated five-game start to its season for the second time in three years. The Tigers currently boast the No. 4-ranked total offense and the No. 2-ranked total defense in the nation, following its victories over Central Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, South Carolina and Massachusetts. However, the team's attention remains on refining their craft to prepare them to play their best performances in the heart of SEC action.

"It's good to be undefeated with things to improve," head coach Eli Drinkwitz said after the team's win over Massachusetts. "I think that's kind of the mentality of our coaching staff and our players. During the bye week, we got to sharpen our edge. We cannot get complacent, so having things to work on is positive."
