Blair Oaks drops state championship, finishes historic season
FENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)
Blair Oaks Girls Soccer has completed its best season in program history.
The Falcons (16-8-1) earned second place at the 2025 MSHSAA Girls Soccer Championships in just their third year of existence, falling 6-1 to Elsberry (18-2-1) in the Class 1 State Championship.
Since the program's inaugural season, Blair Oaks has improved its overall record from 3-19-1 to 16-8-1, captured its first district title and made its first appearance in the Final Four.
Elsberry built a 2-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of action with a pair of goals from Baylor commit Grace White, but Blair Oaks answered with a quick strike from Mia Antweiler off a free kick in the 21st-minute. However, Elsberry scored four more unanswered goals, including two more from White, who posted a record-breaking nine points in the state title game.
Overall, the Falcons were out-shot by Elsberry (17-4), including a six-shot difference on goal (9-3).
Blair Oaks will work to build on its historic season with a talented roster returning for the 2026 campaign. The Falcons only graduated two seniors from this year's team.
