Eli Drinkwitz lands commitment from Top-5 portal talent
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz added yet another defensive weapon to his 2025 roster.
The Tigers landed a commitment from former Georgia defensive end Damon Wilson, on Tuesday. He will come to Columbia as the No. 5 prospect available in the portal, according to On3, and the No. 1 EDGE.
Wilson spent two seasons with the Bulldogs and, in 2024, he posted 22 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive end picked MU over Ohio State, after entering the transfer portal on Jan. 6. However, he was not stranger to getting courted by some of the top teams in the country. Out of high school Wilson was rated as a five-star talent and a Top-20 recruit in the nation.
He made an impact at Georgia as a true freshman, appearing in 12 games. In his debut season in college football, he made four tackles and registered a half sack.
Wilson is now the top-rated transfer portal talent in Coach Drinkwitz's 2025 class. He joins a slew of other players that make up one of the Top-5 transfer groups in the nation.
