Mizzou lands third offensive lineman from transfer portal
COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)
Head Coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff have added a third offensive lineman to their winter transfer portal haul.
Former West Virginia Mountaineer Johnny Williams IV committed and signed with Mizzou on Saturday, becoming the 13th student-athlete to join the Tigers through the transfer portal. Williams is rated as highly as a four-star transfer by Rivals.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound offensive tackle appeared in 12 career games at West Virginia, including seven contests during the 2024 season. Pro Football Focus gave Williams a 73.6 score for his performance in the regular season, which translates to a good grade based on the outlet's rating system.
The Georgia native joins Wake Forest's Keagen Trost and Michigan's Dominick Giudice as the three offensive linemen who have transferred to Mizzou since the winter transfer portal window opened. That group of transfers will aim to help the Tigers fill three vacancies along its starting five on the offensive line, following the departure of Armand Membou to the NFL Draft and the exhausted eligibility of Cam'Ron Johnson and Marcus Bryant.
According to On3, Coach Drinkwitz's current transfer portal class is ranked No. 4 in the nation and No. 2 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
