Former Mizzou defensive end commits to Nebraska

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A former Mizzou defensive end has found his new home.

According to a report from On3, Williams Nwaneri has committed to Nebraska, following his entrance into the transfer portal.

Nwaneri's commitment comes just two days after multiple reports surfaced saying the former highly-touted prospect planned to put his name into the transfer portal, following one season with the Tigers.

The Lee's Summit North graduate was a consensus five-star recruit in high school, considered by On3's industry rating as the top-ranked prospect at his position in the nation. However, Nwaneri posted only one sack and two total tackles in just four appearances during his true freshman campaign at MU.

On3 also reported Nwaneri's former teammate Jaylen Brown entered the transfer portal on Wednesday. The former four-star recruit also appeared in just four games during his freshman season, recording just two total tackles in a Mizzou uniform.
