Mizzou offensive linemen named AP All-SEC selections
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A pair of Mizzou offensive lineman have received some recognition as two of the best players at their position in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Associated Press (AP) announced Armand Membou and Cam'Ron Johnson as second-team All-SEC honorees on Thursday afternoon.
Membou, who was named second-team All-SEC by the conference's head coaches on Tuesday, has started 26 consecutive games for the Tigers, and Johnson has also been a consistent contributor on MU's offensive line over the last two years, making 12 starts in 2023. Both student-athletes were included on the 2024 Outland Trophy Watch List, which is awarded to the best interior lineman in college football.
Johnson and Membou were both key pieces of a unit that helped propel Mizzou to finish as the top-ranked team in the SEC in time of possession (33:01). They also contributed to MU's success in the red zone, running the football and protecting the passer. The Tigers scored on 91.5% of their red zone trips this season, averaged 170.8 rushing yards per game and allowed just 24 sacks to opponents.
No other Mizzou Tigers were recognized on this year's AP All-SEC teams or named first-team selections.
