JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Jefferson City leaders are asking the community to provide input on the city's trash system.

The city posted a survey on its website to ask residents and businesses about their satisfaction with the current services. The survey also asks questions about recycling services and yard waste disposal options.

According to the city's website, its current contract with Republic Services expires May 31, 2026. The contract has been in place since 2016.

The city contracts with the company for city-wide trash service and curbisde recycling.

The survey will be open from Thursday through Nov. 8. Paper surveys will also be available at city hall. City officials said they will hold a public meeting after they gather and analyze the survey results.
