UM Board of Curators set to make formal decision on Memorial Stadium Improvements Project

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The UM Board of Curators are meeting on the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) campus on Thursday afternoon to decide whether to formally approve the proposed Memorial Stadium Improvements Project.
SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey is scheduled to be in attendance alongside university leadership, including Mizzou Athletics Director Laird Veatch, University of Missouri President Mun Choi, Chair of the UM Board of Curators Robin Wenneker and Curator Bob Blitz.
The Memorial Stadium Improvements Project is a proposed renovation plan, carrying a price tag of $250 million. It's centered around a reimagined north concourse of the stadium and will feature many planned renovations, including the ones listed below:
- 14 Outdoor Field-Level Suites
- 150 Loge Boxes
- 28 Premium Suites
- 24 Tiger Den Suites
- Mezzanine Club Seating
- Stadium-Wide Renovated Concessions and Bathrooms
- Recruiting Center in South End Zone
- Year-Round Event Space
- Upgraded Sound System
- LED Field Lighting
- Improved Wi-Fi
- Renovated Ribbon Boards
According to a press release, the decision is expected to be made around 2:55 p.m. with a press conference following the meeting.
