What you need to know before you head to the polls

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Tuesday is Election Day for the Missouri Primaries and there are somethings people need to know before they cast a ballot.

First, you need to make sure you bring a valid I.D. to the polls. It can be a non-expired Missouri drivers or non-drivers license, a non-expired military I.D. including a veteran's I.D. card. A non-expired U.S. passport is also allowed. If you do not have the proper identification, but are a registered voter, the state says you can cast a provisional ballot.

Second, polling places are printed on sample ballot mailing. If you are heading to the polls, officials say it's best to double check your location because it could have changed since the last election. You can check the locations by going to your county clerk's website.

Polling locations open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
