MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two women were seriously injured Wednesday in a crash on Highway 52 at Route C in Morgan County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The report states a 2012 GMC Terrain – driven by Charla Bacon, 62, of Jefferson City – was heading eastbound when it was turning left and traveled into the path of a 2022 Nissan Altima – driven by a 16-year-old boy from Barnett. The report states the turn caused the Nissan to hit the GMC.

The youth was wearing a seatbelt, had minor injuries and was brought to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance, the report says.

Bacon and her passenger – Betty Ponder, 80, of Jefferson City – were not wearing seatbelts and suffered serious injuries, the report says. Ponder was flown to University Hospital, while Bacon was taken to University Hospital by ambulance, the report says.
