Teenager seriously injured in Montgomery County crash

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A teenager was seriously injured Monday in a crash at mile marker 179 on Interstate 70 in Montgomery County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

According to the report, the crash occurred as a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia – driven by Alfa Brockelman, 58, of Salina, Kansas -- was stopping because of congestion caused by another crash. The report states that a 2012 GMC Sierra – driven by Ronin Picker, 19, of Moscow Mills, Missouri -- then rear-ended the trailer of the Cascadia.

Picker had serious injuries and was brought to University Hospital by ambulance, the report states. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The GMC was totaled, while the freightliner had minor damage, the report states.
