COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says it is looking for a woman and her 1-year-old son and that the pair might be in danger.

Deputies are trying to find 33-year-old Autumn Nixon, who is homeless and living in a white SUV, the office says in a Facebook post. Authorities say her lifestyle has raised concerns about the safety of Nixon and her 1-year-old son, Meachie Martin.

Deputies have no confirmed sightings since a week ago, though a witness described seeing a woman and child matching their descriptions Sunday, the post says.

Sheriff's Office Capt. Brian Leer said deputies have concerns for Nixon and Meachie's safety but declined to elaborate. No Amber Alert was issued because Meachie was not kidnapped, authorities say.

Anyone with information is asked to call 311 or 573-442-6131.
