Man seriously hurt after crash in Cole County Saturday

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was seriously injured Saturday night after a truck hit his bicycle on Stoney Gap Road, east of Route M.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Dane Burke, 38, was riding his Sirrus Bicycle when he was hit from behind by a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Steven Kever, 60, of Jefferson City at 10:15 p.m.

Burke was thrown from his bike. He was seriously injured and taken to University Hospital by Cole County ambulance.

Kever was uninjured, according to the report. The Silverado sustained moderate damages and was driven from the scene. The bicycle was towed from the scene with extensive damages.
