44 people apply for Jefferson City parks director position

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The “interview phase” for the search for the next Jefferson City park director will take place over the next two or three weeks, according to an email from Chris Leuckel, president of the Parks and Recreation Commission.

Leuckel said 44 people have applied for the position.

The position became open after former Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director Todd Spalding resigned in September. The commission put Spalding on leave in August with a unanimous vote.

Parks assistant director Aaron Grefrath was picked to fill in as the interim director.
