Jefferson City Room at the Inn staff prepares for winter

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Staff at the Jefferson City Room at the Inn are preparing the shelter to open its doors on Dec. 1.

According to its website, JCRATI has room for 20 adults and "is volunteer-based and is dedicated to providing a warm and safe low-barrier overnight shelter for men and women."

The shelter will be located at a new location this year that serves more people.

The non-profit shared on Facebook it had over 150 volunteers attend a training session at its new location on Nov. 7.

The shelter will operate from 107 Monroe Street every day from 5:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. and will stay open until early March 2024.
