A head-on collision in Boone County on Friday led to two people going to the hospital with serious injuries, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two Jefferson City drivers were seriously injured in a Boone County crash Friday on Highway 124, just north of Bentwood Lane, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The crash occurred as Briseis Haill, 18, was driving eastbound in her 2009 Ford Edge in the westbound lane and hit a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado head-on, according to the report. The Chevy was driven by David Wilbers, 51.

The Boone County Fire Protection District stated in a post on its Facebook page that one of the drivers were pinned in their vehicle and had to be extricated with eDraulic tools.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, the report stated, and were taken to University Hospital in separate ambulances.

The Boone County Fire Protection District stated that Highway 124 was closed for about an hour and a half.
