Multiple arrests made on Friday after a shooting left two people injured in Jefferson City Park on Thursday
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Three people were taken into custody on Friday for their alleged involvement in a shooting that happened on Thursday at a Jefferson City Park.
Two men were injured after they were shot amid a large gathering at McClung Park a little after 11 p.m.
According to a Jefferson City Police Department news release, Lincoln University Police officers were sent to the park for reports of gunfire. Officers at the scene found spent casings near an outdoor pavilion that indicated multiple shooters.
On Friday JCPD officers took three people into custody. According to the Department, the first suspect was a 19-year-old Jefferson City woman who was arrested for Accessory to Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Assault 1st Degree.
The second suspect was an 18-year-old Jefferson City male who was arrested for Accessory to Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Assault 1st Degree.
The last suspect was a 17-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was transported to the Cole County Juvenile Attention Center where they are awaiting formal charges for Unlawful use of a Weapon, Assault 1st Degree, and Armed Criminal Action. According to the release the juvenile had a pending order regarding the Division of Youth Services from prior contacts.
Both adults are being held at the Cole County Jail awaiting review by the Cole County Prosecutor's Office according to JCPD.
