Camdenton man charged with domestic assault after allegedly causing crash on Highway 7
CAMDENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Camdenton man has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly intentionally causing a crash on Sunday near South Highway 7.
Justin Marshall, 26, was charged with two counts of first-degree domestic assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held at the Camden County Jail without bond.
An arraignment was held Tuesday and Marshall pleaded not guilty. A bond hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Camden County Courthouse.
According to a press release from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, several witnesses claimed they saw a pickup truck hitting a Honda Pilot, causing it to crash into a ditch.
The driver of the Honda allegedly told deputies that Marshall assaulted her at their residence before he chased them with his vehicle, the release states. The victim alleged that Marshall rammed his vehicle into hers several times before it went off the road, according to the press release. Marshall allegedly ran away from the scene.
The driver of the Honda suffered moderate injuries and was brought to an area hospital. Two children that were in the vehicle during the chase were left in the care of family members, according to the press release.
Marshall eventually turned himself in to the sheriff’s office later that day, the release states.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that dashcam video of the crash was circulated on social media and that anyone who may be a witness to the crash should contact the office.
