Hartsburg woman charged after allegedly flashing gun in road rage incident
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Hartsburg woman was arrested and charged after she allegedly flashed a gun at another driver Saturday on Highway 63.
Keri Lynn Stathem, 38, is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and armed-criminal action. She was booked into the Boone County Jail on Saturday evening and was held on a $10,000 bond. She was released Monday after posting bond. An arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10.
The victims told law enforcement that a woman with long, black hair driving a Chevrolet Traverse was aggressively following their vehicle while heading southbound on Highway 63, according to the probable cause statement. Stathem allegedly drove to the side of the victim vehicle in the passing lane and pointed a gun at the driver. The driver of the vehicle slowed down to let her pass.
Ashland police ended up stopping the Chevrolet just outside of Ashland and the Missouri State Highway Patrol also arrived on the scene, according to the statement. Stathem allegedly told law enforcement that she held a gun, but pointed it at the roof of the car instead of the occupants of the other vehicle.
Stathem allegedly told law enforcement that she was nervous and grabbed the gun for safety, according to the probable cause statement.
