Tracking more extreme heat with limited rain chances

TODAY: Monday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day for more dangerous heat. It feels as hot as 105-110 again this afternoon. Some may pick up a storm or two this evening in the east, tied to a complex of storms that is forecast to roll from north to south along the Mississippi River this afternoon and evening. Storm chances are low, but if they extend this far east, we may have some gusty winds with them. Overall, today is very hot and humid; limit your time outdoors and hydrate well.

TONIGHT: We remain warm overnight, with lows in the 70s. Only minor relief may come with any rain this evening. The environment will very likely remain warm and humid through Tuesday.

EXTENDED: Tuesday is also an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day, as dangerous heat builds again. A cold front will slide in through the afternoon, bringing more clouds and a chance for showers and storms. Tuesday will have potential for heat indexes in the 100-105 window. Cooler air is expected for the rest of the week. Highs should fall into the 80s, with heat indexes in the 90s. More rain chances return Thursday night and Friday as we enter a more active upper-level flow. This will keep us out of the extreme heat for now.
