COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County counselor has confirmed that the Boone County Joint Communications director and deputy director have resigned.

Counselor CJ Dykhouse told ABC 17 News in an email that Director Chad Martin and Deputy Director Joe Piper tendered their resignations on June 20.

Maj. Gary German, of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, will be the interim director of Joint Communications as the county commission begins a national search for a permanent director.

According to Dykhouse, German will be supported by Mission Critical Partners, a public safety consulting and support company with expertise in running 911 dispatch centers.
