Tracking a brief period of dry weather before a rainy end to the week

TODAY: I'm tracking scattered showers again this morning as temperatures start in the low 60s walking out the door. By the afternoon hours, coverage is expected to decrease, but a few rogue showers can't be ruled out as temperatures warm into the low to mid-70s and winds blow from the east at 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking cloud cover gradually falling apart overnight as temperatures drop into the upper 50s by the end of the night. Winds will continue to stay out of the east at 3-6 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a sunnier afternoon to start the week as temperatures warm back up into the mid to upper 70s by Monday afternoon. It will still be somewhat sunny at the start of Tuesday, but as our next good chance of rainfall arrives, so will cloud cover by Tuesday afternoon. This won't stop Mid-Missouri from warming back up into the upper 70s and low 80s for Tuesday and Wednesday, but as better rain chances approach, temperatures will begin to hover in the mid-70s once again for the rest of the week. Isolated rain chances are possible Tuesday and Wednesday, but the most likely window for widespread, soaking rainfall is set to arrive on Thursday, gradually decreasing in coverage through Friday and Saturday. It will be a rainy stretch to end the week, but healthy rain totals will help any drought conditions that may be forming.
