DENVER, Colo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou hoops alum Michael Porter Jr. and the Denver Nuggets secured the team's first-ever NBA Finals win in a 94-89 win against the Miami Heat on Monday night. Denver took the championship series 4-1.

Porter Jr. registered his second double-double of the series. He finished the game with 16 points and 13 rebounds, along with three assists. It was the Columbia-native's first time playing in the NBA Finals.

He joins fellow MU alums Clay Johnson, Med Park and Win Wilfong in former Tiger hoops players that have won NBA Championships.

Mizzou men's basketball and Rock Bridge alum Josh Kroenke can also claim that title. He is the president of the Nuggets.
