Fire destroys garage in south Columbia

A south Columbia home had minor smoke damage after a fire destroyed an adjoining garage Saturday morning. Boone County Fire Protection District crews responded to 4320 South Brushwood Lake Road around 9:36 a.m. for reports of a building on fire. Battalion Chief Gale Blomenkamp told ABC 17 News later that the cause remained under investigation.

Buses collide near MU campus

Two Columbia city buses collided just after 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon at the intersection of College Avenue and Stadium Blvd. Fire crews responded to the scene and found the buses upright in the southbound lane of College Ave. Two people were treated by ambulance personnel for non-life threatening injuries.
