Elderly woman hurt in car crash

A woman was airlifted to University Hospital on Friday after her car was broadsided by another vehicle on Highway 54, west of Fulton. The accident happened around 10:20 a.m. Friday, when Anna Gallatin, 74, tried crossing Highway 54 near Highway 306. Gallatin was transported by ambulance to a Fulton hospital and then airlifted to Columbia.

Emergency crews to hold Staff for Life helicopter drill

Several local and state agencies will come together this weekend for an emergency preparedness drill. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Boone County Fire Protection District, Columbia/Boone County Public Safety Joint Communications and Air Methods will all participate in a drill involving the University of Missouri Health Care’s Staff for Life helicopter.
