Elderly woman hurt in car crash

A woman was airlifted to University Hospital on Friday after her car was broadsided by another vehicle on Highway 54, west of Fulton.

The accident happened around 10:20 a.m. Friday, when Anna Gallatin, 74, tried crossing Highway 54 near Highway 306.

Gallatin was transported by ambulance to a Fulton hospital and then airlifted to Columbia. Fulton police say she was seriously injured.

The driver of the other vehicle was not seriously injured.
