Tracking cooler temperatures and more sunshine Tuesday

TONIGHT: Becoming partly cloudy with temperatures falling into the low 40s.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and a bit cooler with highs in the lower 60s.

EXTENDED: High pressure builds in early Tuesday, allowing for ample sunshine with northwest winds keeping temperatures 5-7 degrees cooler than average for this time in April. Our next disturbance will arrive Wednesday into Thursday, bringing a chance for measurable rain and a few thunderstorms. We get a bit of a break during the day and night on Thursday before a more organized, stronger storm system arrives on Friday into Friday night, bringing an additional 1-1.5" of rain to the area through early Saturday. A few thunderstorms will also be possible with that system into the beginning of the weekend. Temperatures this week will be close normal or just below for this time of year despite several chances for rain.
