TONIGHT: Mostly clear and chilly, winds diminish. Lows in the upper 20s.

NEW YEAR'S DAY: Mostly sunny and warmer. Breezy, highs in the low 50s.

EXTENDED: Clouds return to the area on Thursday as a deep trough digs south across the Midwest, bringing unsettled weather through the end of the week. Showers begin Thursday evening into Friday, ending as light snow showers through Saturday morning. If we have any accumulation it will be fairly light, generally under 1/2". Temperatures are cooler on Friday and Saturday with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s. Sunday is dry and brighter, approaching 50 degrees for highs.
