Gorgeous Sunday, active week coming up for Thanksgiving

TODAY: Mostly sunny and warm with highs in the upper 50s.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with lows in the mid-30s.

EXTENDED: We start off the holiday week nice and mild on Monday with temperatures climbing into the lower 60s under sunshine. Our next strong storm system approaches by Tuesday, bringing showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms to Mid-Missouri by afternoon into the evening. We'll be on the warmer side of this system, while those across the upper Midwest could see significant winter impacts. Wednesday is much cooler after this system passes through, with highs in the mid-40s, but it's dry. Wednesday night into Thursday, temperatures drop to near freezing and we'll closely monitor our next system that will bring a wintry mix to northern parts of the state, and rain to the south. The track of this system will determine what type of precipitation we'll see on Thanksgiving, so stay tuned as we fine tune the details of that one. We begin to warm again Friday into Saturday with more rain likely.
