Tracking a few isolated storms tonight, severe weather tomorrow evening

TONIGHT: Mostly clear, lows in the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny early and warm with highs in the mid-80s. Strong storms with damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes possible by early evening.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a few isolated storms producing large hail that are nearly stationary over southern Missouri, with the threat continuing for areas near the Lake of the Ozarks and I-44 through about sunset. After that, skies begin to clear and we'll be left quiet for the rest of the night, with a warm start to Friday. Storms will begin to develop along a line ahead of a cold front in western Missouri by late afternoon, rapidly intensifying and bringing the threat of 2"+ diameter hail, 75 mph winds, and a few tornadoes through late evening. Storms will move west to east and bring another 1-2" of rain area-wide. Rain looks to exit by early Saturday morning, leaving us with cooler temperatures as we fall into the 40s. Afternoon highs only make the upper 50s. Sunday is sunny and warmer with temperatures reaching into the upper 60s. Next week is looking very nice to start as surface high pressure allows sinking air to drive out any active weather, resulting in plenty of sunshine and highs in the 70s through Wednesday.
