Tracking big temperature swings for the upcoming week

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and cold with gusty winds up to 20 mph. Lows in the lower teens.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny with highs in the lower to mid-20s.

EXTENDED: A front moving through to our east will shift winds back to the northwest, ushering in colder air for the start of the week. That could make slushy spots in isolated areas slick for the morning as lows fall into the lower teens. Winds ease a bit tomorrow, but it's a chilly day with high temperatures only in the lower to mid-20s. Cold air sticks around on Tuesday, and a weak disturbance moves in from the north in the morning, bringing a shot at a few flurries early in the day. Tuesday night, we'll have to keep an eye on temperatures as skies clear out - we could end up with single digits in a few spots, which would trigger a cold weather Weather Alert Day. Temperatures start to increase toward the end of the week, approaching 50 degrees in some spots by Friday. However, we'll be tracking low pressure that could bring rain or even a few rumbles of thunder late Friday before colder air moves in. There's a chance that if precipitation slows down enough it could shift to snow late Friday night into Saturday as morning temperatures Saturday fall into the mid-20s. The weekend is colder with arctic air moving in, dropping highs into the 20s on Sunday.
