Tracking widespread showers and storms before a sunny Thursday

Today: Showers and storms become widespread by mid morning with the potential for strong damaging winds up to 60 MPH. Flash flooding remains possible as heavy downpours are expected. A secondary round develops late this evening into the overnight hours causing potentially stronger storms south of the Lake of the Ozarks region near southern portions of Phelps and Pulaski counties. Highs only reach into the upper 70s.

Tonight: Showers and storms eventually push to the southeast after midnight giving way to mostly cloudy skies with overnight lows bottoming out into the mid 60s.

Extended: Thursday sees mostly sunny skies with highs into the lower 80s. A sight warm-up begins Friday with highs near 90 degrees with partly cloudy skies and a slight chance for an isolated shower or storm. Similia conditions persist into Saturday with highs into the upper 80s before more chances of showers and storms Sunday afternoon.
