Tracking colder than average temperatures the rest of the week

TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy and cold with lows in the low to mid-20s.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with a few flurries, especially north of I-70. Highs in the lower 30s.

EXTENDED: Cloud clover holds through much of this evening as low pressure spins to our northeast. We get enough breaks in the clouds along with light snow cover for temperatures to dip into the 20s overnight. Wednesday is chilly with some clouds sticking around, and perhaps a few flurries across areas north of I-70. Temperatures reach the low to mid-30s. The polar air mass sticks around through the end of the week, and a couple of weak fronts will try to traverse the area. A cold front will bring a chance for non-accumulating light snow showers on Thursday evening, and drop us to about 30 for Friday's high temperature. The main thing we will be tracking are frigid wind chills by the end of the week into the weekend. Overnight temperatures dip into the teens starting Thursday night, with wind chills falling into the single digits Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. The upper pattern begins to flatten out a bit into early next week, allowing temperatures to get closer to average in the low to mid-50s.
