Tracking showers and storms Wednesday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a few sprinkles. Lows in the upper 50s to around 60.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and storms. Highs near 70.

EXTENDED: Temperatures remain near 60 overnight with clouds sticking around, and rain chances ramp up by mid-late morning tomorrow as low pressure is centered just to our south. This will be our best chance of rain until Sunday night with scattered showers and storms continuing through late Wednesday night. The low slowly begins to retreat out of the area on Thursday, but we hang onto cloud cover that keeps us in the mid-70s. A few showers are possible through the day, but are more hit and miss than what we'll see on Wednesday. Clouds gradually clear on Friday and upper winds dramatically increase from the south. Warmer air quickly settles across the region as we move into the low 80s by Friday afternoon. We'll be flirting with a record high on Friday as temperatures reach the upper 80s to around 90 during the day. The record high on Saturday is 91. The day is dry but of course toasty as we're about 20 degrees warmer than normal. Sunday is a touch cooler as clouds try to move back in by afternoon as a cold front approaches the region. Rain will be possible around sunset as the front moves into Mid-Missouri, with showers continuing into Monday morning. This will bring temperatures back down into the upper 70s to start next week. Rain amounts between today and Monday will be less than 0.5". Temperatures remain above average in the upper 70s to around 80 for most of next week.
