Tracking chilly mornings and seasonable afternoons as sunshine returns

TODAY: I'm tracking stubborn cloud cover through the afternoon as winds turn to the northwest at 8-12 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. This will keep temperatures from warming up past the upper 50s.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking clouds gradually falling apart overnight with northwesterly winds at 8-12 mph. By dawn tomorrow, expect temperatures in the low 40s.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a partly cloudy afternoon Friday as temperatures slowly warm back into the low 50s. Friday night, mostly clear conditions return as high pressure moves into the area, which allows for a noticeable cooldown. By Saturday morning, temperatures almost everywhere will be in the low 30s, meaning a freeze is likely, especially in valley areas. Mostly sunny conditions Saturday afternoon allow for temperatures to warm into the low 50s before once again cooling into the low 30s Sunday morning. Each day from Sunday on will be slightly warmer than the last, with the low 60s on Sunday afternoon, then mid-60s Monday through Wednesday.
