Tracking a chilly start to the weekend before warmth returns next week

TODAY: I'm tracking a cool, windy afternoon as thick clouds bring isolated chances of light showers. Temperatures will top out in the low-to-mid 50s as northerly winds blow at 15-20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking a cold evening as clouds gradually clear out of Mid-Missouri. By the end of the night, mid-to-upper 30s are expected, which has led to a frost watch for areas north of I-70. Winds will be calmer, blowing from the north at 5-10 mph by dawn tomorrow.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a sunnier, warmer afternoon to start the weekend, with temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s on Saturday. Each day through the weekend into the start of next week will be slightly warmer than the last, with upper 60s by Sunday afternoon and low 70s by Monday afternoon. On Tuesday and Wednesday, mid-to-upper 70s return, and by Thursday, low 80s arrive in Mid-Missouri. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions are expected for most of next week.
