Tracking showers winding down today, patchy fog tonight

THIS AFTERNOON: Scattered showers are slowly winding down, but rain may linger near I-44. Rain totals climbed above 2 inches in some areas this morning, and we may see another quarter inch before rain ends today.

TONIGHT: Showers steadily pull away to the east, with lingering clouds overnight. Patchy fog is possible as lows fall to the mid-60s.

EXTENDED: After a foggy morning, sunshine returns on Friday, with seasonable temperatures in the low 80s. We'll see a slight warmup this weekend into the upper 80s, but we should stay below 90 degrees with more rain chances on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. There will still be lots of dry time to enjoy the milder weather this weekend. Highs breach the 90 mark on Monday with more sunshine, but rain chances return by Monday night and kick off a long-term cooldown next week.
