Tracking extreme game day heat

THIS AFTERNOON: An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued for extreme heat today, with a heat index up to 105 degrees through late afternoon. The feels-like remains near 100 for Mizzou kickoff at 7 p.m.

TONIGHT: Temperatures gradually fall to the mid-80s by the end of the game, and lows remain warm in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days remain in effect on Friday and Saturday as the heat index soars to 105 through the end of the week. A weak cold front will struggle against this heat late Saturday, but it might produce a few showers to the north Saturday evening. No relief is expected, and highs remain in the 90s on Sunday, though the heat index will drop below 105. Unseasonably hot temperatures continue next week, with highs reaching the 90s throughout the forecast.
