Tracking a pleasant Thursday before storms return Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows in the upper 60s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny and hazy with highs in the upper 80s. Storms possible late in the evening.

EXTENDED: We'll be seasonably warm again on Thursday, but with dew points yet again in the lower 60s, we won't have to deal with a heat index. An upper disturbance slides over the region between Thursday night and Friday, with a trailing surface cold front to bring storms back to Mid-Missouri. Rain could be heavy and widespread early on Friday, with a brief window for temperatures to rise into the mid-80s in the afternoon. We could see another round of more widely scattered storms by late afternoon and evening, and a few of those may produce isolated strong wind gusts. Much of Mid-Missouri is in a level 1/5 severe risk for this isolated chance. Rain amounts will range between 0.5" and 1". We could see some lingering showers early on Saturday as low pressure spins to our east, keeping cloud cover around and temperatures topping out in the upper 70s. Sunday looks beautiful with more sunshine and highs in the lower 80s. Next week, we'll begin to warm as that low pressure tracks into the Ohio Valley and warmer air streams in from the southwest.
