Tracking more comfortable air and sunny skies Wednesday

TONIGHT: Gradual clearing and mild with lows in the lower 70s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny with highs near 90, but humidity is much lower.

EXTENDED: The Weather Alert Day is canceled as temperatures begin to gradually cool down tonight. I'm tracking more sunshine the next two days, and despite highs still reaching around 90, dew points fall into the 60s so we won't have a brutal heat index to deal with. I'll be tracking a slow moving system from the west between Thursday night and Friday, bringing scattered storms through early Saturday. Rain amounts will range from about 0.5" to 1", and with a lack of sufficient instability, any chance for widespread severe storms is looking fairly low. We'll be significantly cooler for the start of the weekend with highs in the low 80s on Saturday, but high pressure tries to build in again next week, sending temperatures back to the upper 80s by Monday. Another low pressure system meandering across the Plains could either bring cooler air or rain chances toward the middle or end of the week.
